🚨 School Operations Update 🚨
Wilkinson County Schools will continue asynchronous learning on Friday, January 24, due to ongoing safety concerns with road conditions that impact several bus routes.
We have consulted with our Transportation Director, County Road Supervisor, and local LEA to make this decision with safety as our top priority. We plan to resume normal operations on Monday, January 27.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to ensure everyone’s safety. Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you on Monday!

Warrior Nation: Out of an abundance of caution and the threat of refreezing tonight, tomorrow, Thursday, January 23rd, will be an ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING DAY for Wilkinson County Schools. All games, practices, and activities are canceled. This decision reflects our commitment to the safety of our staff, students, and families. Stay safe, Warriors!

Ms. Little's science classes explored the school grounds to observe biotic (living) and abiotic (nonliving) factors in action. Students identified producers, consumers, and decomposers while discussing their roles in energy flow and ecological balance!

Our seventh graders are hard at work mastering the concepts of computing and analyzing measures of central tendency, whether independently or in collaboration with their teacher! Their dedication and focus are truly inspiring!

Principal Choice met with eighth grader Caylee to discuss her goals for the second semester, and she did an amazing job explaining how she plans to "shoot her shot" for success. Weekly progress reports are sent home to keep students and families informed, and conferences like these highlight our commitment to student growth. At WCMS, student conferences are a vital part of teaching, learning, and achieving goals together!

Dr. Rose-Brown, Dr. Geter, and Mr. Dennis led professional learning sessions for our grade-level and department teams. At WCMS, we’re committed to growing and learning together!

Our leadership team came together today to focus on improving our school for students and staff! From a Chalk Walk activity led by Ms. May to discuss professionalism, to Mrs. Choice’s facilitation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment data analysis, it was a day of growth and collaboration. Each team member received a small token of appreciation for their dedication to enhancing student outcomes and our school culture—leading and learning together at WCMS! 💙✨

We are thrilled about our district partnership with the Georgia Youth Science & Technology Center (GYSTC)! Ms. LaTrina Howell, GYSTC Regional Coordinator, shared an overview of the incredible resources and materials available to support our teachers during our last faculty meeting. A big thank you to our office staff for providing refreshments, and we look forward to welcoming Ms. Howell back later this month for additional support!

Kai was focused and productive during Increased Learning Time (ILT), making the most of every moment. At WCMS, we prioritize maximizing instructional time to support student success!

Happy 100th day of school to our students, staff, and families! We’re so grateful for everything we've accomplished so far and can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings! #100thDay #Grateful #OnwardAndUpward
