Wilkinson County Elementary students recently stepped outside the classroom for a unique learning experience during their visit to a Macon Mayhem hockey game.
While enjoying the excitement of live hockey, students also participated in academic activities designed to connect classroom concepts to real-world experiences. Each student received a workbook filled with engaging exercises and access to educational videos that reinforced skills through observation and interaction during the game.
This opportunity allowed students to connect reading, problem-solving, and critical thinking to an authentic setting, helping them see how learning applies beyond school walls. Experiences like this strengthen engagement and create memorable moments that support student understanding.
Wilkinson County Schools values opportunities that make learning meaningful and appreciates the chance for students to combine education with hands-on exploration.
