Thank you, Oconee RESA, for introducing us to the Lit, Love, Read campaign, a Georgia-based literacy initiative that ran from February 4th to March 6th, aimed at boosting students' reading skills through the joy of daily read-alouds. Yesterday at WILCO STREAM Academy, our students didn't just read about the power of wind and water — they felt it! After exploring the book Wind and Water, students put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building their very own windmills.
Watching their creations spin was just the beginning — they're already thinking like scientists and engineers!

Update: Wilkinson County Schools will be closed today out of an abundance of caution due to weather conditions. Parent-teacher conferences scheduled for today will be rescheduled. Schools will share new dates soon.
Due to anticipated weather conditions during peak commute times on Monday morning, Wilkinson County Schools will operate on a delayed start for staff, with employees reporting at 10:00 a.m. Families who have spring conferences scheduled before 10 am may choose to reschedule by contacting the school’s main office. We appreciate your understanding as we take this precaution to support safe travel conditions for our staff.
Reminder: Parent–Teacher Conferences are tomorrow (Mon., March 16) from 1–4 PM.
Students will have an asynchronous learning day with no in-person classes.
Monday, March 16, will be an asynchronous learning day for all students in Wilkinson County Schools. There will be no in-person classes. Students should complete the assignments sent home or posted online through their teacher’s platform. Staff will be available during regular school hours to provide support and answer questions. Thank you for your partnership in supporting student learning.

4th-graders were spotted today celebrating Read Across America Week! Mrs. Starley's class enjoyed their library time with Mrs. Fowler, listening to the famous "Oh, the Places You'll Go" and making parachutes for places they hope to visit! Additionally, Ms. Washington's class focused on finishing AR books and tests, as well as on constructive responses to today's lesson.
