Students in Mrs. Burke’s 5th-grade class explored plant and animal cells this past week by building models and comparing organelles in both! Hands-on learning like this helps deepen their understanding as they write about each structure’s function. #WildAboutLearning #WCESWarriors

Read Across America Week is celebrated from March 2 to 6 — it begins on the birthday of the beloved author, Dr. Seuss. The entire month of March, in fact, is dedicated to reading. The National Education Association (N.E.A.) aims to encourage reading and educate people about its benefits, especially among children and young adults. Please join us as we encourage our students to read. We will celebrate each day with a different theme. There will also be different literacy activities in the library all week long!
