Mrs. Johnson may be new to the role but not to the calling!
Her commitment, resilience, and ability deserves to be celebrated this October and everyday after. The work you do is meaningful, impactful, and appreciated!
We’re so lucky to have you!
Here's to your first School Principals Month!

📚 Grades 1–5 sampled a variety of books and ended their “tasting” with a sweet treat.
🍪 Pre-K and Kindergarten students enjoyed a lively read-aloud of The Gingerbread Girl Goes Animal Crackers and were delighted with animal crackers to go along with the story.
It was a fun way to celebrate reading and spark excitement for books across all grade levels!
Thank you to our Media Specialist, Mrs. Fowler, for continuing to shine a light on literacy at WCPES!

Show your Warrior Pride by joining in our dress-up days next week!
Let’s celebrate together! #oneteamonefamilyonewilco

Develop a model to support an explanation of why the length of day and night changes throughout the year, with the learning target of "I am learning to model how the seasons change by Earth's rotation and orbit around the sun," and "I am learning how day and night are related to the Earth's tilt and rotation."
Using spheres, pins, and flashlights, students created models and demonstrated how the sun moves around the Earth. In groups, students then drew diagrams to support their demonstrations.

We appreciate the hard work you do, not just on the day that the calendar has set aside, but every day! Without a doubt, we are well-connected in the hands of our IT Professionals! 💻

Our Media Specialist, Mrs. Fowler, is leading the charge in bringing awareness to literacy all month long with a variety of exciting events.
The first event, “Readers Make Leaders,” featured leaders from our community volunteering their time to read to WCPES students. Mrs. Griffin’s class especially enjoyed a visit from Mr. Wayne Amerson, McIntyre Police Chief, who shared a story with them.
What a wonderful way to show our students that strong readers truly make strong leaders!

📚✏️ Our students are becoming authors and editors! In Ms. Washington's class, they practiced peer review while writing their narratives.
👀 First, they read each other’s stories all the way through.
💡 Then, they shared what they loved most.
🔍 Next, they gave helpful feedback on characters, setting, and plot.
👏 Finally, they suggested ways to make the stories even stronger!
Learning to give and receive feedback is just as important as writing the story itself. Our Warriors are growing as writers every day! 💙💛 #WCPESWarriors #YoungAuthors

Today, Wilkinson County Schools joins the nation in remembering and honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We also recognize the bravery of first responders, the strength of families, and the resilience of communities who carried our country forward.
We pause to reflect on the values of unity, service, and courage. These are reminders of the importance of standing together. May we never forget.

Ms. L. Cooper is in our #WarriorSpotlight this week. She was observed by District Leadership during her math Basic Training Time.
Basic Training on this day consisted of ordering numbers, expanded form, rounding, place value, and a word problems. Thank you, Ms. Cooper keeping these basic skills in the forefront!
